Maxine Brown attended the GLIF Annual Workshop, hosted by Internet2, in Miami, FL, USA. September 29-30, 2016. EVL participated in a demo with Ciena Corporation (Canada) and the International Center for Advanced Internet Research (iCAIR) at Northwestern University. For this demo, a remote SAGE2 server was set up at UIC; the SAGE2 display (a high-resolution monitor) was located at GLIF in Miami. Ciena showcased Blue Planet, software that enables network operators to accelerate the delivery of new on-demand services while reducing costs through automation. Specifically, they showcased Blue Planet’s real-time analytics. Blue Planet had performance probes on several machines, and created real-time analytic charts that go directly to a web page. SAGE2 was used to display Blue Planet web-based network monitoring charts from a server at Northwestern University and video streams from UIC, as well as PDFs, etc.
